DESCRIPTION

Lecturer – Leadership Programs - Graduate School of Education

The Graduate School of Education (GSE) at the University of California, Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary, part-time, non-tenure-track Lecturers to teach in the Leaders for Equity and Democracy (LEAD EdD). Screening of applicants begins immediately and continues as needed. Applicants will be selected from this pool to be appointed in Spring 2021, Summer Sessions 2021, and the 2021-2022 academic year. The number of positions vary from semester to semester and appointments may be renewed based on need and performance.

We are seeking outstanding part-time lecturers who can teach or co-teach courses in LEAD, which offers an education doctorate to practicing school leaders who aspire for system leadership positions. General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials, and collaborating with PLI leadership, instructors, and supervisors.

Basic Qualifications (by the time application): Ed.D. or Ph.D., or equivalent international degree.

Additional Qualifications (by start date): The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years professional experience in public education settings.

Preferred Qualifications: The Graduate School of Education is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching.

Salary: These are academic year appointments and subject to the normal processes of academic review. Salary is commensurate with experience but typically begins at $59,235/year and is prorated in accordance to UC Berkeley’s instructional workload calculation. This position is in a represented bargaining unit.
