About This Position


The Department of Art and Design at Suffolk University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Graphic Design at the rank of Assistant Professor with a start date of July 1, 2021. The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse graphic design experience and teaching excellence; a terminal degree or equivalent is required. We are searching for a curious and engaged professional who is interested in building a dynamic graphic design curriculum with a student-centered approach. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated experience and excellence in multi-disciplinary graphic design solutions across a variety of platforms. It is important that the candidate has a strong understanding of current professional graphic design practices and the willingness to work as part of a team dedicated to educating the designers of tomorrow.

Responsibilities include a 3/3 teaching load, one of which may be a course in the University’s first-year general education curriculum, supervision of theses and independent studies, student advising, the maintenance of a productive trajectory of scholarship/creative activity, and active participation in the life of the department, college, and university through involvement in shared governance and other service activities.
